Topic: The NAD⁺/SIRT1-REST-mitophagy axis in memory: prevention against Alzheimer's disease
Presented by: Prof. Maria Jose Lagartos Donate

Prof. Maria Jose Lagartos Donate is a senior scientist in Pre-diagnostics. Previously she worked as a post-doc in Dr. Fang's group at Oslo University (Ahus). Before coming to Oslo, she worked as a post-doc fellow at Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience in Trondheim for several years. She did my Ph.D. in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Castilla-La Mancha while she was working as a teaching assistant. During all these years, the focus of her research work is on Alzheimer´s disease and healthy aging.
Please find hereafter the content of her presentation talk about research work with Dr. Fang where we investigated the role of the transcription factor REST in cognitive preservation and longevity, and its connection with SIRT1.
