EuGMS SIG on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Dear Colleagues,

The EuGMS SIG on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis is glad to invite you to an OPEN meeting. The meeting will take place on July 30th 2025, 17:00 to 18:00 CEST

The agenda of the upcoming meeting is as follows:

SPEAKER 1: Dr Charlotte Beaudart (20 minutes, 10 minutes discussion):
TITLE 1: "Introduction to challenges around meta-analytic studies"
BIO 1: Charlotte Beaudart is an Associate Professor at the University of Namur, Belgium, where she is responsible for the Master’s program in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Clinical Research. Professor Beaudart obtained her PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, and Health Economics from the University of Liège in 2016. Her academic journey also included a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Health Services Research at Maastricht University. She is also senior advisor of the WHO Collaborating Center for Epidemiology of Musculoskeletal Health and Aging, scientific board member of ESCEO and as a member of the IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors. With a h-index of 59 and more than 205 publication, she has authored more than 50 systematic reviews and meta-analyses, including network meta-analyses and individual patient data meta-analyses. In addition, she has over five years of experience providing training on systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

SPEAKER 2: Dr Konstantinos Prokopidis (10 minutes, 20 minutes discussion)
TITLE 2: Update of submitted manuscripts and what’s next?
BIO 2: Konstantinos is a recent PhD graduate in sarcopenia and heart failure with extensive experience in conducting meta-analyses. He will provide a brief overview of the submitted manuscripts under the SIG and what’s needed for the remaining ongoing projects before submission. He will then propose (and listen to) new ideas for the new academic season of 2025-2026, in which, anyone can contribute.
